“If you don’t like how things are, change it… You’re not a tree.” – Jim Rohn

Can’t get that saying out of my head after a friend of mine said it to me. Told him how I was “stuck,” and he called me out and said, “That’s not true,  you’re not stuck, you’re never stuck, you’re not a tree…move”. So true. Then what is it, fear, insecurities, low self-worth and esteem, believing the BS that people put in your head? Yes.

I’ll be honest, I am guilty of all those things, not to mention I let my anxiety and depression get the better of me sometimes,  but I’m not the kind of guy to make excuses…or do I? If they are not excuses, then why keep going around and around and around? Easy way outs, excuses… They are the tools that build the bridge to nowhere.

Look, there are no secrets here…I’m an overweight,  middle aged dude with mental health issues, mixed anxiety and depression disorder, self-worth and self-esteem issues who was a victim of grooming, abuse, and manipulation. I could go on and on. But, so what? Unfortunate things happen…but they are not permanent. How often we use them as excuses. No, we need to stop. I need to stop.

So, moral of the story is that we are really never stuck.  It’s a lie we tell ourselves. Of course you have to be smart about it, but if you don’t like where you are, do something about it. Don’t settle, don’t make excuses, don’t accept things as they are….MOVE. I myself am guilty of staying planted, but realize more and more that things need to change…I need to change….and it’s right there.
